Many Mohawks Named in PG USA Top Freshman in America List

Many incoming 2017 Amsterdam Mohawks players were named in Perfect Game USA's list of the Top 400 Freshman College Basbeall Players in America.

"With the competetion of many summer leagues and many of the elite talent going to the prestigous Cape Cod League, the Mohawks recruiting of many of the top players in America is impressive.  It certainly is a great sign of the quality of talent in the PGCBL", said PGCBL President Jeff Kunion.

 

2017 Mohawks who made the Top 400 List and where they ranked within the Top 400 Freshman in the USA:

7.   Jeff Belge - LHP -  St. Johns (played in 2016 with Mohawks as a HS Senior)

27.  TJ Collett - C/1B - Kentucky

40. Graham Ashcraft - RHP - Mississippi State

104. DJ Roberts - RHP - South Florida

113.  Anthony Gonnella - 3B/1B/OF - South Florida

142. Riley Self - RHP - Mississippi State

184. Brandon Reitz - RHP - Florida State

201. Matthew Gorski - 2B/CF - Indiana

248. Elliott Anderson - LHP - Auburn

262. Dustin Skelton - C - Mississippi State

301. Morgan McSweeney - RHP - Wake Forest

335. Holden White - LHP - Wake Forest

*Ben Anderson RHP Binghamton was named the #2 freshman in the America East

*Sam Mccarthy RHP Maine was named the #3 freshman in the America East

*Colin Sullivan RHP South Florida was named the #16 freshman in the American Athletic Conference

*Andrew Saalfrank LHP Indiana was named the #31 freshman in the Big 10

*Nick Pantos RHP Maryland was named the #45 freshman in the Big 10 

*Justin Reed RHP Indiana was named the #64 freshman in the Big 10
*Eric Rivera CF Florida Atlantic was named the #18 freshman in Conference USA
