The Mohawks won their fifth game in a row as they defeated the Glens Falls Dragons by a score of 9-3 on Sunday night at East Field.
Glens Falls got on the board first in the second inning as Nick Winslow grounded into a fielder's choice which allowed Colby Brouillette to score.
Amsterdam responded in the third and took the lead by scoring 2 runs. Danny Moshier doubled and later scored on a wild pitch while Keith Jones followed with an RBI double that drove in Bryce Eblin.
In the fourth, Matt Shaw scored on an error to put Amsterdam up 3-1.
Each team scored a run in the fifth, Keith Jones drove in his second run of the game as Stone Miyao scored to make it 4-1; Jones was 3-for-3 on the day with a pair of doubles and a walk. Nick Winslow would score on a wild pitch in the bottom of the inning to make it 4-2.
In the sixth, Slate Alford drove in a pair of runs with a single that scored Matt Shaw and CJ Funk. Jackson Phinney followed with a solo home run which put the Mohawks up 7-2.
The Dragons got one back in the seventh with the help of a pair of former Mohawks as Cam Collett stole second and an error at second allowed Nick Marola to score from third.
In the ninth with Danny Moshier of first and Jackson Phinney on third, Moshier was able to steal second on a poor throw and Phinney was credited with the steal of home. Bryce Eblin would later drive in Moshier with a sac-fly to make it 9-3.
The Mohawks used 6 pitchers in the game and recorded 15 strikeouts. Dylan Carmouche was credited with the win as the Mohawks improved to 9-2 while Riley Orr took the loss as the Dragons fell to 3-6.
The Mohawks are off on Monday and return to Amsterdam on Tuesday to face the Albany Dutchmen at 6:35.
