Box Score Game 1 Game 2

The Amsterdam Mohawks improved to 19-4 with a doubleheader sweep of the Albany Dutchmen 11-8 and 6-5. Timely hitting was the key component to the victories.

CJ Funk (Pittsburgh) hit his third home run of the year in Game 1 to tie the game at 6-6 before the game was tied again at 8-8 and the Mohawks scored three 6th inning runs to seal the deal. Zach Cable (Oklahoma State) got the save in game one with a perfect 7th inning.

Shane Harris (Evansville) had another productive start with 4 innings of one-run ball to start game 2. Amsterdam broke the game open in the bottom of the third inning with 5 runs, started with Cam Hill’s (Kentucky) second solo homer of the year.

Leading 6-2 in the top of the seventh, the bullpen almost extended the game, but the final out was made before the Dutchmen could tie the game after making it 6-5.

The Mohawks remain in first place in the PGCBL East and have the best record overall heading into Wednesday’s road matchup in Saugerties.
