Amsterdam, NY - The Mohawks took a tough loss to the Albany Dutchmen on Tuesday night at Rao Family Stadium in Amsterdam. 12-4 was the final score from Shuttleworth. The victory went to Billy Fitzgerald (Fairfield) and the loss was credited to Brian Yetter (Marist).
The Dutchmen had 14 hits to produce their 12 runs, the biggest hit coming off the bat of Isaac Humphrey (Louisville) in the 7th inning. Humphrey shot a 3-run bomb over the left center field fence to break this one open. Ryan McGee (Siena) added 3 hits and Ty Gallagher (Herkimer) contributed 2 hits and 2 RBIs.
For the Mohawks, the big blow came off the bat of Kai Roberts (Utah), who smacked a 3-run shot into dead center field and over the deep wall to square the game at 3 in the 4th inning. The Mohawks only plated 1 more on the night, that coming in the 6th inning where Matt Shaw (Maryland) had an RBI single.
The Mohawks are back in action on Wednesday as they head to Glens Falls to take on the Dragons. First pitch is at 7:00 at East Field in Glens Falls.
