Amsterdam, New York -- The Amsterdam Mohawks improved to 23-6 with a 13-1 win over the Glens Falls Dragons (7-22) tonight at Rao Family Stadium. The bats were out early for Amsterdam as they tacked on six first-inning runs against Dragons starter Sam Howard, who got the loss.
Mohawks starter James Salemme (Union) went four innings to get the win as the game was called after seven innings due to the new PGCBL mercy rule. Brett Coker (Middle Tennessee State) and Jake Reinisch (Wake Forest) each cracked a long home run to extend Amsterdam's lead in the third and fourth innings, respectively.
The Mohawks host the Stallions tomorrow at Shuttleworth Park before heading to Glens Falls on Sunday night for these two teams' fourth matchup of the week.
