Mohawks Shutout Stallions, 6-0

The Amsterdam Mohawks took down the Stallions by a score of 6-0 on Saturday night. Nick Smith (University of Evansville) was fantastic on the mound picking up his fourth win of the season. Ben Johnson (Georgia Southern University) was hit with the loss for the Stallions.

The game was scoreless for the first three innings. The Mohawks took an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth thanks to third baseman, Brett Coker (Middle Tenesse State) with a solo home run over the left center field fence. Then, left fielder, Kai Roberts (University of Utah) hit and RBI single that brought in another run for the Mohawks.

Amsterdam tacked on 2 more in the bottom of the fifth, with Coker hitting an RBI double to give the Mohawks a 4-0 lead.

The score remained 4-0 until the bottom of the seventh when the Mohawks scored two more runs. Shortstop, Bryce Eblin (Alabama) hit a 2-run home run to make the score 6-0.

The Amsterdam Mohawks will travel to East Field to face the Glens Falls Dragons Sunday night at 7:00.
