The Amsterdam Mohawks improved their PGCBL leading record to 25-6 tonight with a home victory over the Glens Falls Dragons. Shane Harris (Evansville) started and went five innings to get the win while only allowing two runs on two solo home runs in the first and second innings. Each time Harris allowed a run, his offense backed him up in the bottom half of the inning.
Bryce Eblin (Alabama) had a two-run single in the bottom of the first to put the Mohawks in front. Then, in the bottom half of the second Jake Reinisch (Wake Forest) had an RBI single to put Amsterdam in front 3-2 and added to that with a two-out two-run double in the bottom of the third to make it 5-2 Mohawks.
Ian Cooke (Connecticut) came on in relief and went the rest of the way with four innings of relief and only allowed one run. It was the first save of the year for Cooke, who has both started and come out of the bullpen this season.
The Mohawks will be in Oneonta on Wednesday to take on the Outlaws and look to improve their winning streak to six games.
