Mohawks Fall To Dawgs, 6-1

Amsterdam, New York -- The Amsterdam Mohawks fell to the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs on July 16th, 6-1 at Rao Family Stadium. Poor pitching and untimely hitting plagued the first place Mohawks in their seventh defeat of the season. Mohawks pitchers hit seven batters tonight and gave out seven walks as well. However, only down four runs the Mohawks had runners in scoring position with no outs in three different innings, including the bases loaded and nobody out in the fifth and did not score.

Kai Roberts (Utah) provided the only offense with an RBI double down the right-field line in the seventh for Amsterdam. James Salemme (Union) takes the loss after going three and two-thirds innings allowing two runs. Joey Silan (Delaware) got the win with six shutout innings.

The Mohawks look to start a new winning streak in Oneonta on Saturday night after the seven-game streak was snapped against Mohawk Valley. Amsterdam still leads the PGCBl with a 27-7 record.
