Amsterdam, NY -- Mohawks mercy-rule Dragons for the third time this season
The Mohawks took down the Glens Falls Dragons in seven innings tonight via the mercy-rule by a score of 15-3 on Thursday night from Rao Family Stadium in Amsterdam. The win went to Shane Harris (Evansville) of the Mohawks and the losing pitcher was Riley Orr (Caselton) of the Dragons.
Offense was abundant in this one for Amsterdam, with all but one hitter in the lineup having a hit and three Mohawks having 3 hits. Matt Shaw (Maryland) led the way going 3-4 with 4 RBIs on the night including the “walk-off” 2-RBI double that put the mercy rule into effect. CJ Funk (Pittsburgh) and Bryce Eblin (Alabama) also both added 3 hits and 3 RBIs to the 15-run effort.
The Dragons had 8 hits to produce their 3 runs on the night. James Murphy (St. John Fisher) was 2-4 with 2 runs scored and Cole Durkan (Stonybrook) was 2-3 with an RBI. Peter O’Toole (Dartmouth) was also 2-3 with an RBI and Jack Stolper (Middlebury) was 1-3 with an RBI.
The Mohawks head to Glens Falls tomorrow for another matchup with the Dragons at East Field. First pitch is at 7:00.
