The Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) is excited to announce their 2023 All-League Teams. A total of 39 players were selected to the two squads in recognition of their standout summers.

12 of the 16 PGCBL teams had at least one player selected, with the 2023 PGCBL Champion Amsterdam Mohawks leading the league with nine players chosen. The Niagara Power were next, leading the West Division with six selections, while the Utica Blue Sox were third with five tabbed.

Amsterdam placed a league-high six on this year’s first team, while tying for the lead with three nominations to the second team with Niagara and Utica.

Highlighting the selections and the All-League First Team are Player of the Year Andrew Amato (Saugerties/University of Delaware) and Pitcher of the Year Aidan Colagrande (Mohawk Valley/Fairfield University). Amato and Colagrande, in addition to Amsterdam’s Keith Griffin and Batavia’s Joey Martinez, the 2023 PGCBL Coaches of the Year, were selected as the league’s major award winners last week.

Other notable selections to the first team include Cam Gurney (Amsterdam/University of Utah), who took home the league’s batting title with a .430 batting average, and Mitch Balint (Mohawk Valley/Carson-Newman University), who drove in a league-high 42 runs. Tyler Sausvillle (Amsterdam/Xavier University) also earns a first team selection after becoming the only pitcher to win six games this season.

League strikeout king Jacob Phillips (Boonville/Guilford College), who punched out 59 batters, earned a second team selection, along with ERA champion Gardner Meeks (Elmira/Roanoke College), who pitched to a 1.00 ERA in 2023.
