The Amsterdam Mohawks are proud to announce the promotion of Assistant GM Megan Anagnostopulos to serve as their 9th General Manager in team history and 3rd since moving to Amsterdam.
Megan has been with the Mohawks off and on since serving as an intern while attending SUNY Brockport in 2017. She later worked seasonally for the team being in charge of group sales and game entertainment. After stops at Old Dominion University to purse her Master's Degree and a position with the Albany Firewolves Lacrosse team, Megan was hired as Assistant GM with the Mohawks as a full-time 12 month employee in March 2022. In her three years of work, the team has won championships each year and set attendance records along the way. In addition, many of the Mohawks systems have been streamlined and updated, and group sales have been taken to new levels.
"Over the past three seasons, Megan has helped take our Mohawks to new levels. She has a combination of many traits that you look for when hiring someone to run your business. She is honest, extremely hard working, driven, passionate, intelligent, loyal, and willing to whatever is needed - and it's always done with a positive attitude and a smile", said team President and owner Brian Spagnola. "Megan has taken our plan and playbook, and executed them perfectly, all while adding much more to what we always did. Myself and my family are proud to place the team in her hands and look forward to what the future holds."
Team co-owner Dave Dittmann echoed similar sentiments. "Megan was performing all of the duties of the team's GM so making it official with her title was an easy decision for Brian and myself to make. We are proud to have her as part of our organization and member of the Mohawks family, and look forward to new heights she continues to help us rise to".
Spagnola will remain as team President and Dittmann in his role as Vice President.
