2025 Schedule Released

The Mohawks have released their 2025 schedule as they begin their quest to win a record breaking fourth straight title.

The season will open on Thursday, May 29th at home against the Oneonta Outlaws. Saturday, May 31st is the first of 3 Fireworks games this season as the Mohawks host the Saugerties Stallions. The other Fireworks Nights will be Wednesday, July 2nd and Friday, July 25th.

Vet’s Tuesday will be featured again as the Mohawks will be home every Tuesday night in June and July as we honor our veterans and active-duty military sponsored by Patriot Asset Management and 3 Rings Security.

New the PGCBL this year will be the league’s first Canadian team. The unnamed team is currently holding a naming contest, but will be based out of St. Catharines, Ontario and George Taylor Field which is located just west of Niagara Falls and the U.S. border. Their stadium was once home to the Toronto Blue Jays NY-Penn League affiliate, the St. Catharines Stompers from 1986-1999 with notable alumni such as Carlos Delgado, Vernon Wells and Jeff Kent.

St. Catharines will compete in the West Division, so baring a Championship matchup, the Mohawks will not be playing North of the boarder this year. However, playing in Canada is not unprecedented for Amsterdam and the Mohawks. From 1938-1951 Shuttleworth Park hosted the Amsterdam Rugmakers who were part of the Canadian-American League. And the Schenectady Mohawks competed against the Kanata Selects, which is located just outside of Ottawa when these teams were both in the NCBL. The Mohawks last trip into Canada was on June 28, 1993, when Matt Quatraro, now the manager of the Kansas City Royals, hit 3 doubles and drove in 5 runs as the Mohawks swept a doubleheader by scores of 15-0 and 9-4.

Also different this year, Albany and Watertown will not be fielding teams in the PGCBL. The East Division will consist of 7 teams and the West Division will have 8 teams.

The 46-game schedule will see the Mohawks play all their East Division opponents. Amsterdam will take on Saugerties 11 times, Glens Falls 10 times, Mohawk Valley 7 times, Utica 7 times, Oneonta 6 times, and Boonville 5 times. The Mohawks will also have 4 home-and-home series. Twice against Utica, June 3rd and 5th and again on June 17th and 18th where the Mohawks will be the home team first both times. Then on June 24th and 25th it will be home and away against Saugerties and again on July 9th and 10th, with the Stallions getting the first home game this time.
