The Mohawks took a break from the PGCBL schedule and debuted their home white primary uniform in a non-league contest with the Troy Haymakers. Amsterdam defeated the Albany Twilight League team by a score of 9-0 Thursday night.

Alex Junghans got the Mohawks on the board in the second with line drive single to right that scored Ryan Schwartz and Peyton Jemison hit a sac-fly scoring Wes Walker which made it 2-0.

Walker was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the third to make it 3-0 and Sebastian Harden hit a 2-run double in the fourth that scored Ben Huckans and Brad Curtis to make it 5-0. Then Jon Young, Jr. unloaded on a 2-2 pitch as it went into the Chuctanunda Creek behind the right field fence to give the Mohawks a 7-0 lead. Ryan Schwartz capped off a 5-run inning as he hit a sac-fly to drive in Brandon McCraine and make it 8-0.

In the sixth, Sebastian Harden scored on a wild pitch to close out the scoring as Amsterdam took a 9-0 lead.

On the mound it was Sam Falace, Cai Cheng En, Nick Semon and Brad Curtis who combined for the shutout.

The Mohawks are on the road tomorrow night as they’ll face the Oneonta Outlaws at Damaschke Field starting at 7:00 PM.
