John Nogowski (Florida State) swatted a 10th-inning RBI single to lift the Mohawks to a win over the DiamondDawgs at Vet’s Park.

The majority of the game was played at a stalemate; Mohawk Valley’s Landon Thibodeaux (LSU Eunice) drew a bases-loaded walk in the first that was cancelled out in the second when Amsterdam’s John Nogowski tripled and scored on an RBI ground out by Brian Ruby (Binghamton).

The Mohawks inched ahead, 2-1, in the seventh on a two-out RBI single from Mark Brennan (Fairfield) but the Tribe left the bases loaded. A two-out single by Mohawk Valley’s Jordan Friend (Alabama A&M) leveled the score right after the seventh-inning stretch.

Amsterdam’s Ed Charlton (NJIT) singled to start the 10th and was bunted over to second. With two outs, Nogowski’s fourth hit of the game chased Charlton home from second with the eventual winning run. Chris Kalica (SCCC) tossed two frames of scoreless relief to earn the win. Nogowski finished 4-for-5; Ed Charlton and Brian Ruby had two hits each.

Amsterdam improved to 10-0 at Vet’s Park in the PGCBL era. Tribe starter Logan Fullmer (Maine) twirled a two-hitter over five innings and did not concede an earned run while Dawgs pitcher Logan Carmen (USM) fanned four and allowed two runs in 6.2 innings.
