Razzino, Mohawks Bash Blazers 13-2; Win Streak At 7

Box Score

The Amsterdam Mohawks won their seventh game in a row, defeating the Adirondack Trail Blazers, 13-2 at Shuttleworth Park.

The Mohawks struck first on a 2-RBI double from JaVon Shelby and added another run in the first on a groundout by Brendan Tracy. In the bottom of the second, Jonathan Pryor was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to bring home the fourth run of the game for Amsterdam. That was the first of five runs in the inning for the home team. Shelby plated another run with a sacrifice fly, but the big hit in the inning was a John Razzino three-run home run to make it an 8-0 game.

After four innings of play it was 10-0 Mohawks as a Josh Gardiner fielder’s choice brought in a run and Tommy Kain doubled home a run in his Amsterdam debut. Adirondack scored lone runs in the fifth and seventh innings, respectively. Razzino kept up his hot hitting with a 2-RBI single in the bottom of the seventh and Alex DeBellis hit a solo home run in his first game as a Mohawk to conclude the scoring at 13-2.

Taylor Blatch tossed six innings, allowing one run as he picked up his third win of the season for Amsterdam. Jesse Whitmeyer threw two innings for Adirondack, allowing the eight runs as he took the loss.
