Box Score

Scott Manea (NC State) singled with the bases loaded to score Riley Mahan (Kentucky) in the bottom of the tenth to give Amsterdam a 4-3 win over East Division rival Glens Falls Dragons.

Manea finished the night 1-for-4 with a single and RBI. Brendan Tracy (Fairfield) went 1-for-3 with a double and scored two runs. Brennan Price (Felician) led the offense for Glens Falls, going 1-for-2 with a single and two RBIs.
The Dragons struck early by plating two in the top of the first inning. After consecutive hit by pitches with one out, Jake Vieth (Tacoma CC) singled to load the bases. Phillips then hit a ground ball that bounced and struck the field umpire, allowing all runners to move up 90 feet on the dead ball. Oscar Rodriguez (St. Thomas) would score on an RBI walk by Brennan Price (Felician).

Amsterdam got on the board in the fourth after Tracy and Manea drew back-to-back walks an advanced to third and second respectively on a wild pitch. Handsome Monica (Arizona) lifted a sacrifice fly to center to drive in Tracy, while Manea was gunned down trying to take third.

Glens Falls pushed across another run in the top of the sixth when Phillips led off with a single, was sacrificed to second and driven in on Price’s RBI single. The Mohawks responded in the bottom half. Justin Yurchak (Wake Forest) singled before Tracy doubled with no outs. Both would score on Craig Dedelow’s (Indiana) single to center, tying the game at 3.

With two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the tenth, Manea lined a 2-2 pitch over the glove of a diving Vieth at first and into right field to give the Mohawks their 20th win of the season.

The win went to Mohawks reliever Kyle Smith (NC State), who improved to 1-1. The loss went to Glens Falls reliever Matt Stojkov (Saginaw Valley State). He dropped to 2-1.

The Mohawks will have a day off Saturday before returning home Sunday to host the Newark Pilots at 6:35 p.m. Glens Falls will look to bounce back Saturday night when they travel south to play the Saugerties Stallions at Cantine Memorial Field at 6:35 p.m.
