Early Lead Leads To Easy Victory For Mohawks

The Amsterdam Mohawks (24-6) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Glens Falls Dragons (15-15), recording a 12-1 victory on Wednesday at East Field.

The game was decided quickly as the Amsterdam Mohawks exerted their will early with six runs in the first three innings.

An RBI single by Brendan Tracy, a fielder's choice, and an RBI single by Handsome Monica in the first inning and an RBI single by Hunter Tackett, an RBI double by Scott Manea, and an RBI double by Manea during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Amsterdam Mohawks.

 

Monica racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Amsterdam Mohawks.

 

Zach Logue struck out 10, paving the way for a the Amsterdam Mohawks win. Logue allowed one earned run on five hits and no walks over six innings.

 

Cameron Churchill had an impressive outing against the Amsterdam Mohawks' lineup. The Amsterdam Mohawks managed just three hits off of the the Glens Falls Dragons' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked four and struck out four during his 4 2/3 innings of work.

 

Jake Murray was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked one and struck out three.
