After dropping Friday night's contest against the Glens Falls Dragons in walkoff fashion, the Amsterdam Mohawks bounced back Saturday night to win 10-0 at Shuttleworth Park.

Paul Milto (Indiana), Cameron Enck (Maryland), and Garrett Bye (South Florida) combined for a four hit shutout of the Dragons. Enck struck out six, while Milto and Bye had two strikeouts each.

Amsterdam scored early and often. In the bottom of the first, Andrew Rouse (Marist) reached on a fielder’s choice, stole second, and scored on an RBI single by Nick Patten (Delaware). Two innings later, Tyler Ungerland (St. Rose) and Rouse led off with back-to-back singles, with an error allowing Ungerland to move to third. After Joe Genord (South Florida) walked to load the bases, Dan Maynard (Maryland) lifted a sacrifice fly to right to make it 2-0 Amsterdam. Tristen Carranza (New Mexico State) and Kyle Sacks (UAlbany) followed with RBI singles to push the lead to four.

In the bottom of the fifth, Patten led off with a single. After a single by Carranza, Sacks singled to center where the ball was misplayed by the center fielder, allowing two runs to score, making it 6-0 Mohawks.

Amsterdam would add one run in both the sixth and seventh innings on an RBI single by Genord and an RBI groundout by Ungerland. In the bottom of the eighth, Patten doubled to start the inning and was followed by a single from Genord.Nick Schaub (Schenectady County CC) drove in Patten with an RBI groundout and Ben Rhodes (Siena) singled to bring in Genord for the final tally.

Eric Downey (Brockport), who spent the 2015 season with the Saugerties Stallions, recorded the first extra base hit for the Mohawks in 29 innings with a double in the second.

The win on the bump went to Milto, who went five innings, allowed just two hits, and struck out two. The loss was charged to Bryan Warzek (New Orleans) who went five innings, surrendered ten hits, allowed six runs (one earned), walked two, and struck out four.

The Mohawks will have an off day Sunday and will play an exhibition game Monday before returning to PGCBL action on Tuesday night against the Saugerties Stallions at Shuttleworth Park.
