Dragons Late Rally Defeats Mohawks, 5-4

The Glens Falls Dragons fell behind 4-1 Saturday night at East Field, but were able to rally for a 5-4 victory over the Amsterdam Mohawks. 

Amsterdam jumped to a 3-0, scoring a run in each of the first three innings off of Glens Falls starter Andrew Kneussle (Canisius). 

Glens Falls scored a run in the sixth to get within 3-1, but Amsterdam answered in the seventh with a run of their own to make it 4-1 Mohawks. 

The Dragons would score four runs in the bottom of the eighth to take the lead. After Nate Cardy (Gannon) was hit by a pitch, and Griffin Neuer (Bellarmine) was walked, Brian Uliana (Rider) delivered an RBI single. Hunter Szaflarski (Lock Haven) who had walked, came around to score on a wild pitch, as would Uliana to give Glens Falls the 5-4 lead. Robbie Knightes (St. Johns) also singled in the inning to keep the two out rally alive. 

Matthew Stojkov (Northwood) took the win for Glens Falls. 

Knightes, Uliana and Chris Kwitzer (U. Buffalo) had two hits each for Glens Falls. 

Chris Givin (Xavier) and Joe Genord (South Florida) had two hits each for Amsterdam. Tristen Carrenza (New Mexico State) had two hits including a solo home run for the Mohawks. 

Glens Falls is now 8-17. Amsterdam is 17-8.
