Mohawks Route Blue Sox 13-5

The Amsterdam Mohawks came out on top against the Utica Blue Sox on Wednesday night at Donovan Stadium. The Mohawks took an early lead and held onto it until the end with a final score of 13-5.

The Mohawks started the scoring when they gained two runs in the top of the third. The Mohawks extended their lead to 4-0 after a two-run home run. The Blue Sox worked to rally back in the bottom of the 5th with back to back homeruns and a hit, cutting the Mohawks lead to 4-3. Robbie Young (Garden City C.C.) and Adam LaRock (Iowa) had the home runs for Utica. However, the Mohawks were able to come back the following inning and gain four runs. The Blue Sox were able to gain two more runs through the night but the Mohawks proved to be too much as they scored five unanswered runs ti end the game. The final score ended up being 13-5, which puts Utica's record at 4-11.

Garret Keough (Holy Cross) took the loss, allowing seven runs and seven hits before being relieved by Brian Dolan. Brian Dolan (UMass Lowell) allowed three runs and four hits.

Holden White (Wake Forest) was the pitcher that was credited for the win as he did not allow any hits or runs.

With the win the Amsterdam Mohawks improve to 9-6 on the season. The Mohawks next game is Thursday night as they head to Glens Falls to take on the Dragons, game time is set for 5:35 P.M. for a double header. The Blue Sox go on the road to the Mohawk Valley Diamond Dawgs Thursday night, game time is set for 6:35 P.M.
