AMSTERDAM, N.Y. - In a back-and-forth battle between the best in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League, the Eastern Division All-Stars beat the West Division All-Stars by the score of 10-8 at Shuttleworth Park in Amsterdam on Tuesday night.

This marks the 7th straight PGCBL All-Star win for the East Division.  Since the start of the PGCBL, the West Division has yet to win an All-Star game.
Anthony Vaglica (LIU Post) of the Glens Falls Dragons went 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs, capturing the All-Star Game MVP award, and Luke Petterson (Minnesota) went 2-for-2 with a double to lead the East Division.  Troy Dixon (Samford) had a 2-RBI hit to lead the West Division All-Stars.

Taylor Olmstead (Southern N.H.) of the Utica Blue Sox got the scoring started for the East division in the bottom of the 1st by parking a ball over the left field fence to give the East a 1-0 lead.  The West division would tie it up in the top half of the 2nd on an RBI groundout by Christ Conley (Canisius) of the Jamestown Jammers.

The East Division would score a run in the 3rd, and a home run off of the bat of Will Holland (Auburn), representing the home town Amsterdam Mohawks, in the 4th would give the East a 3-1 lead.

However, that lead was short lived, as the West plated 6 runs on 7 hits in the top of the 5th, highlighted by a 2-run RBI single by Troy Dixon of the Elmira Pioneers, to make it 7-3 in favor of the West All-Stars.

That lead lasted just as long, with the East striking for 7 runs on 5 hits of their own, highlighted by a 2-RBI double by Anthony Vaglica of the Glens Falls Dragons, giving the lead to the East All-Stars once again, this time 10-7.

The West Division squad would get a run back in the 6th on a Mikey Arman (Geneva Red Wings/Kenyon) sacrifice fly, making it 10-8, but it wouldn’t be enough.

The All-Star game win goes to John Clayton (Albany) of the Saugerties Stallions, while the loss will be charged to Cory Blessing (Ohio) of the Jamestown Jammers.  The save goes to Nathan Wrighter (Bryant) of the Oneonta Outlaws.
