On Tuesday night the Amsterdam Mohawks played two seven-inning games against the Glens Falls Dragons and took both contests to improve their record to 19-5 on the year.

In game one Nick Massa got the start for the Mohawks and pitched well allowing just two runs on five hits with six strikeouts.

The offense got started early when Geordan Blanton brought home Rook Ellington on a first inning groundout to make the score 1-0. Then in the second Mitch Hartigan hit a solo shot to right field, stretching the lead to 2-0.

Glens Falls would tie the game on a pair of solo home runs, one by Devon Kruzinski in the third, and then another by his brother Brandon in the fifth.

The score was still tied at two heading into the bottom of the seventh when Dalton Reese singled up the middle to bring home Hartigan, giving the Mohawks the 3-2 win.

In Game two the Mohawks gave the ball to Travis Lane who went four innings allowing three runs on four hits.

The Mohawks would again get on the board early in the first inning when Landon Jordan plated two runs with an RBI single.

The Mohawks would stretch the lead to seven to zero with a run in the third on a Blanton solo homerun and then four runs in the third on a Paul Franzoni three-run homerun and a passed ball that allowed Johnny Decker to score.

The Mohawks would tack on six more runs over the next three innings and the final score was 13-3.
