Box Score Game 1  Game 2

The Mohawks were swept by the Albany Dutch on Monday by scores of 9-4 and 11-1 as they fell to 2-4 on the season.

The Mohawks jumped out to an early lead as Brian Hart hit a 2-run home run in the first inning. That lead would be short lived as the Dutch answered right back in the bottom of the first. Mohawks starter John Mikolaicyk struggled to find the strike zone. After a lead off single by Devan Kruzinski, Mikolaicyk would issue a walk to the next batter, record a strikeout, then hit the next two batters to force in a run, then walk the next 3 batters to give the Dutch a 4-2 lead.

Mikolaicyk would start the next inning, but after walking the leadoff batter he was replaced by David Montalvo. Unfortunately, Montalvo’s command was no better as he walked the next two batters to load the bases and hit the next two batters to force in a pair of runs. Jake Manderson followed and was the first Dutch player to drive in a run with his bat as he hit a sacrifice fly to right field to make in 7-2.

In the third the Mohawks got a run back as Nick Marola drove in Joe Novenche with a single to center, but the Dutch answered back with 2 runs in the bottom of the inning. Devan Kruzinski drove in Caleb Doyle with a single and Chris Hamilton added a ground out RBI that scored Philip Li to make it 9-3.

Both teams would go scoreless in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings as Brendan Disonell pitched 3 scoreless innings and Teddy McGraw would add a scoreless inning for the Mohawks. Sal Fusco would pitch 2.2 scoreless innings for the Dutch.

Ben Lavery led off the seventh inning with a home run for the Mohawks, but Anthony Amoroso would record the next three outs as he pitched the final 2 innings to secure the 9-4 victory for the Dutch.

The Mohawks outhit the Dutch 9-4 as Ben Lavery lead the way going 2-for-3 with a double and a home run. The control issues on the mound cost the Mohawks as they issued 10 walks and hit 4 batters while the Dutch only issued 1 walk and hit 1 batter. Connor Bovair was the winning pitcher for the Dutch while John Mikolaicyk took the loss for the Mohawks.

The second game got off to a rough start for the Mohawks and started Ben Rhodes. An error by Jake Reinish allowed the leadoff batter to reach base and opened the door to four unearned runs scoring.

In the second inning, Luke Gold hit a 3-run home run off Rhodes and put the Dutch on top 7-0.

The Dutch added two more runs in the third and Adam Zebrowski added a 2-run home run in the fifth to make it 11-0.

The Mohawks lone run came in the sixth when Nick Kondo hit a sac-fly to left that scored Joe Novenche.

Will Van Beusekom was the lone bright spot from the Mohawks bullpen as he struck out 4 while posting two scoreless frames in the seventh and eighth innings.

Ben Seiler was the winning pitcher for the Dutch while Ben Rhodes took the loss for the Mohawks.
